Curriculum
D’Evelyn’s curriculum is based on the liberal arts philosophy that students should study an essential body of cultural knowledge.
Mastery of the skills and knowledge acquired through the study of core academic subjects is the foundation for all subsequent learning.
Junior High Curriculum
Rigorous coursework in sixth, seventh and eighth grades lays the foundation for high school success.
High School Curriculum
D’Evelyn’s curriculum provides continuity through courses that build upon the previous year, becoming progressively more complex.
Independent Study
Independent study is not ordinarily an acceptable substitute for a standard D’Evelyn class given the absence of whole-group instruction, which is one of the cornerstones of D’Evelyn’s program. However, under special circumstances, independent study may be allowed.
Independent study courses for graduation credit must be approved by the Steering Committee. All independent study applications must be submitted prior to the conclusion of the fifth day of the start of the applicable school year. Students must submit the form to the scheduling assistant principal.
