Credit Recovery
Rather than trying to make up failed courses during summer school, D’Evelyn strongly recommends that students retake English, Math, World Languages and high school-level Science.
We believe that students are more likely to learn and master the material and enjoy long-term success through daily interaction with their teachers and peers during the school year.
Requirements
D’Evelyn students who fail Science, History or English and students who earn a D or lower in Math or World Language courses will need to complete summer school work to be eligible to move onto the next grade level course or earn a D’Evelyn diploma.
Students must use D’Evelyn-approved courses; other non-approved coursework will not count for D’Evelyn credit. If, after reading this information, you still have questions about summer school, please contact your student’s counselor.
Schoology and Google Classroom
D’Evelyn teachers have created online courses that contain the essential material for the course. Some of the materials in these courses could include google slides/notes, video clips, guided reading questions, homework assignments, and quizzes. Students will have instructions on what they need to complete – broken down by tasks, days or weeks.
Registration
Families should first complete the D’Evelyn Summer School Registration Intention Form. The summer school teacher will email students and parents with class information no later than the end of May.
Course Fees are $180 per semester credit, or $360 for a year-long course. The Summer School teacher will email the students and parents with class information.
