Music Organizations
Marching band
Marching band is D’Evelyn’s highest-level band and is a multiple-time state champion. The band performs at multiple competitions during marching season and switches to a concert band during the offseason to perfect basic skills and introduce more advanced concepts.
Color guard
Color guard is an exciting group combining interpretive dance with flags, sabres and other equipment to enhance musical productions, especially by the D’Evelyn marching band.
Drumline
Drumline offers a chance for instrumental percussionists to refine their skills to perform at various school events such as pep rallies, the D'Evelyn Dash, the bonfire, football games and more!
Orchestra
Orchestra is a course offered at D’Evelyn for students who want to improve their skills and develop advanced concepts. We work on technique, intonation and rhythm reading while exploring a variety of orchestral literature.
There are three levels of orchestras grouped by ability levels. Each orchestra performs four concerts throughout the year. Students can reach higher by auditioning for honor orchestras and the pit orchestra for our spring musical. In addition, there are opportunities to participate in chamber ensembles.
Choir
Choir is a course offered at D’Evelyn where students can participate in either the junior high choir, tenor-bass choir, treble choir or concert choir. Students develop their vocal skills including sight-reading, technique and harmony and ultimately have the honor to perform during multiple concerts throughout the year. The auditioned concert choir regularly receives superior ratings at CHSAA contests.
Tri-M
Tri-M (Modern Music Masters) is a music honor society that is open to upperclassmen enrolled in band, choir or orchestra. Through performance and community service, students in Tri-M utilize and develop leadership qualities, creativity and critical thinking.
