What
is a Finals Care Package?
First and foremost, this is a fundraiser for Prom and the Senior Banquet.
A bag full of 8 – 10 treats including drinks, granola bars and various types of
snacks/chips that await your student at his/her first exam class room the first
day of Winter and Spring Finals. All D’Evelyn students are eligible and last
year more than two thirds of the student body participated.
What
about food allergies?
All
Finals Care Packages are nut free. You may also order a Dairy and Gluten Free
bag if necessary.
How and when do I order
them for my student?
During registration, when you are paying your fees, Finals Care Packages
are listed as an optional fee. Select Regular or Dairy/Gluten Free Finals Care
Package for each of your students. Both semesters are sold as one unit, costing
$22. If purchased individually per semester, the cost is $15 each.
What about sending a
personal note with my student’s package?
About a month before the end of the semester, there is a reminder in the
Jaguar Tracks and Daily Announcements giving you an option to send in a
personalized note of encouragement. You will need to print this note out at
home and send it to the office to be included in your student’s bag. Don’t
worry, if you run out of time, those students who do not receive a personal
note will still receive a standard note of encouragement.
See below for the Personal Note of Encouragement attachment
to print/submit.
What if I forget to
order a package?
If
you forget to order a package, you may be able to order and pay for one two
weeks before Finals, making sure payment is received by Monday of the prior
week. At that time each bag will be $15. We try to buy enough extra goodies for
a few latecomers, but this option cannot be guaranteed. Contact Valerie Schreiber, Financial Secretary, directly to purchase bags late.
How can I get involved
with stuffing the bags?
This is a fun project to help with and involves just a couple of hours the
day before the first day of Finals each semester. Volunteers meet in the
cafeteria around 12 or 12:30 p.m. the day before Finals start, stuff the bags,
then deliver them to the classrooms during seventh hour.
I still have
