ALL STUDENTS:

~Happy Halloween!

 

~ Pumpkin decorating contest judging will take place today during 7th hour.  If you would like to see the entries and learn who is deemed to have entered the most creative, most artistic, or spookiest pumpkin, join us in the cafeteria today!

 

~Friday, November 2 is a half day of school. The release time will be 12 p.m. The buses will be running to take you to your usual stops.

 

~Band and Orchestra students we want you! Come be a part of the musical, "Curtains", and play in the pit! There will be a brief informational meeting Monday, November 5 after school. We will meet in the drama room (in the senior hall). 

 

~Tomorrow is the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Exam) for those interested students.  You do not have to join the military or even consider a career in the military to take this exam. The test is free and will last from 1:45 pm to approx. 3:45 pm.  It is not too late to sign up, so stop by Counseling.

 

~Are you a basketball fan?  Tomorrow, Gonzaga University from Spokane, Washington will be here.  A new arena was built in 2004 and it has been a packed house every game since!

 

~Everyone in the D'Evelyn community, today is the last day to enter the 'My Favorite Book' drawing in the library.  The prize is a $10.00 Amazon gift card!!  Hurry to the library to enter!

 

~Permission forms are due now to Counseling for the CU Aerospace Engineering Lab Shadow Day this Friday from 1 to 3 pm.  If you are thinking about a career in Engineering and would like to create and make your own Fidget Spinner, this is a fun and unique opportunity. Ask your friends to join you as there is plenty of room.

 

~Mathletes! The UNC math competition is one of the biggest and most fun math competitions of the year.  The competition involves 10 written questions that get progressively harder and involve "outside the box" thinking. The competition is tomorrow 1st and possibly 2nd period in the cafeteria. See your math teacher for a pre-arranged absence form if you are interested.

 

~Attention Jaguars! That crisp fall air will soon turn to frigid winter blasts. Before that happens, please check your closets for outerwear that you will no longer use and donate it Lain Club's Coats for Colorado drive. Collection points are at each school entrance through 11/9. Your donated items will be cleaned and distributed to needy Colorado residents to help them keep warm and healthy. Thank you for your generosity.

 

SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS:

~High school students don't forget that there will be a brief meeting right after school today in the auditorium for those interested in auditioning for this year's musical "Curtains". Audition materials will be available at the meeting. No previous experience necessary, all are welcome!

 

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS;

~The D’Evelyn Jr. High Boosters are hosting Jr. High Students at the Littleton JumpStreet on early release day THIS Friday, November 2nd  from 12:30 – 2:30 pm.  Pizza and bottled water is included!  Get together with your friends at this fun event!  $16/student.  Waiver MUST be completed online prior to arrival or print it off and bring with you: Waiver

~Reminder, this Friday is an early release day for D’Evelyn. Students will be released at noon and buses will be taking students to their usual stops.

 

~There are two tables in the front lobby with lost and found items!!  Please ask your student to come check for anything they might be missing or stop in and have a look. Items unclaimed will be donated.

~Congratulations to our D'Evelyn gymnasts Teagan McDonald, Kendyll Gromko, Paige Drewek and Emily Belmonte for qualifying to the CHSAA State Gymnastics Competition this Thursday and Friday November 1-2 at Thornton High School. Paige Drewek and her Lakewood team placed 3rd in their 5A Regional competition. Teagan McDonald and Kendyll Gromko with their Bear Creek team finished 3rd at their 4A Regional competition.  Emily Belmonte and her Green Mountain Team placed 1st. Great job girls!

 

~Girl's swimming and diving will be having a parent meeting and apparel sizing this Thursday in the D'Evelyn cafeteria at 6:30 pm. We look forward to seeing all of our families there to learn more about our program!

~Are you interested in an aviation, art, business, engineering, or a security & intelligence career?  Embry Riddle Aeronautical University from Prescott, Arizona will be here during 7th hour today.  If interested sign up in Counseling.

~Listen up please….this is the final day for 9th graders to meet with a counselor for the Admission Game during 7th hour.  Students with last names from A through O are required to report to the counseling office.  9th graders with last names P-Z will report to Room E100.  Also, students that did not attend last week are required to do so today.

 

 

~All high school students interested in auditioning for this year's musical murder-mystery, "Curtains"; there will be an informational meeting this Wed, Oct 31st immediately after school in the auditorium. The meeting will not go more than 15 minutes. Audition materials will be available at that time. If you've never been involved in a D'Evelyn production come see what it's all about and try something new this year. You don't need to be a singer to tryout!

 

 

~Winter athletes, if you have not registered yet, please do so. You will not be able to try out until your registration is complete!!! The first day of practice is Nov 12th, don’t wait until then.

 

 

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS;

~Congratulations to the 3A State Champion D’Evelyn Marching Band for a first place win at State yesterday!

ALL STUDENTS:


~Interact members interested in helping with the Peaceful Schools project: we have a training session today and tomorrow in Mrs. McSkimin’s room during 7
th hr. You must attend one session to participate in the event.


 

~Students and staff, come sign a poster outside the cafeteria today during lunches to congratulate your 2018 marching band on their return from State tomorrow. They have had an excellent season and would appreciate us celebrating with them!!

~Today, Colorado College will be in Counseling during 7th hour.  They have a unique block schedule, one class at a time and students may receive a grant of $4,000 to study any topic anywhere in the world.  Get a pass in Counseling if interested.  Tomorrow, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University from Prescott, Arizona.

 

 

~Can’t decide on a college major?  Don’t know what career to pursue?  Then the ASVAB Career Exploration Program is for you!   The exam will be given to interested 10th, 11th and 12th graders on Thursday, Nov 1st from 1:45 to 3:45 pm. If you are interested in a military academy or enlisting in the military, you are required to take this exam.

~Congratulations to your D’Evelyn Varsity Cheer team on capturing 1st Place in the Varsity 4A southwestern regional competition this weekend!  They beat Green Mountain by 18 points, as well as teams from other states!  D’Evelyn Cheer Squad…what are you going to do now?  “We’re going to Disney World!” 

 

 

~XC STATE UPDATE! Our girls team finished THIRD in 3A - an amazing feat - and all of our team members had great races. Freshman Eliana Thompson got 10th in the State with Taylor Haerbig, Kati Livingood, and Katy Haerbig not far behind to help us clinch 3rd!

ALL STUDENTS: 

 

~National Junior Honor Society will be selling Dairy Queen Blizzards in the main lobby after school today, so come start your weekend with a Blizzard. We have gluten free.

 

 

~All boys interested in trying out this winter for boys Basketball should attend a meeting in Coach Slaughter’s room during 7th hour today!!  If you can't make it today be sure to talk to Coach Zinn or Coach Slaughter soon for information. 

 

 

~Deposits are due October 31st for the trip to Costa Rica.  If anyone is interested in this trip, please contact Mrs. Stevenson ASAP.

~D'Evelyn's drama department presents a musical murder/mystery, "Curtains". It's the opening night of a musical and the leading lady has been poisoned. With a quarantined cast, can the detective solve the case, and fix the problematic show-stopping number in time? There will be an informational meeting after school next Wednesday, the 31st, in the auditorium for all those interested in auditioning for the show. Audition materials can be picked up at that time.

~Come out tonight to Trailblazer Stadium at 7:00 pm, to honor our Senior Football players and watch the Jags DEVOUR the Eagles!

 

 

~Make sure to wish your DHS Cheer team good luck as they travel south to compete in the MidWestern 4A Cheerleading regional competition, where they’ll compete against rival high schools such as Green Mountain and Evergreen. Go jags! 

 

 

~And also good luck to the Marching Band as they head to Pueblo for the State competition on Monday!!

ALL STUDENTS:   

~National Junior Honor Society will be selling Dairy Queen Blizzards after school in the main lobby tomorrow. Plan ahead so you won’t be left out. We will have gluten free.

 

 

~All boys interested in playing basketball this winter need to come to an informational meeting Friday during 7th hour in Coach Slaughter's room. Sign up for Coach Slaughter's 7th hour Friday, and if you can't make it then please talk to a coach so we can get your information on registering for the upcoming season.
