ALL STUDENTS:

Colorado Academy is hosting an Athletic Recruitment Presentation on Nov 20 at 6:30pm on their campus.  Guest Speakers, Jeff and Holly from The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey, are experts on the topic of athletics and present at colleges and high schools nationwide.  They have invited D’Evelyn to join them for this informative evening.  Stop by Counseling for the details.

Hey Jags! Next week, November 18-22 is the canned food drive brought to you by Spanish Honor society. Bring cans to your third hour class to support those in need. All cans benefit the Jeffco Action Center. The class with the most cans wins a party before Winter Break!

 

Tickets for Oliver the musical are on sale during lunch. The cost is $5 per ticket. The performance will be on Thursday evening November 21st at 6:30 pm at the West Bowles Community theater.

Important updates regarding D’Evelyn enrollment for 2020-2021

D’Evelyn will offer a new 6th grade program next school year (2020-2021). Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year is just around the corner. The 1st round priority enrollment period will occur from December 10, 2019 - January 15, 2020 in the EnrollJeffco system.

For the 2020-2021 school year, D’Evelyn will accept applicants for 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade from both Jeffco and non-Jeffco residents. We ask D’Evelyn community members to share these updates with friends and family in the metro area, as well as the details of our Prospective Student Information Sessions.

We will host Prospective Student Information Sessions in the D’Evelyn Auditorium on the following days and times:

  • Saturday, November 9th, 8 AM
  • Thursday, December 12th, 7 PM
  • Thursday, December 19th, 7 PM
  • Tuesday, January 7th, 7 PM - only for students seeking to begin HS in 9th grade at D’Evelyn
  • Thursday, January 9th, 7 PM

Additionally, the D’Evelyn faculty, staff, and administration is organizing an Open House event from 9 AM - noon on Saturday, November 9th for interested students and families. This will be a great chance to meet D’Evelyn students, teachers, coaches, club sponsors, and administrators, to learn more about the school, and tour the facility.

We encourage all families interested in D’Evelyn enrollment for their student(s) in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 for 2020-2021 to attend one of these Information Sessions.

The Academic Assistance Center is officially running from 2:45-4:00 pm after school in the library. This program allows students to have a quiet time and space for additional academic support and tutoring. This is primarily for Jr. High, however, high school students may attend on a referral basis. ALL STUDENTS:

High School Female Scholar of the month is Gabriella Byrne. She was nominated by Ms. Hobbs. She is a joy to start the morning with.  She is active and engaged, asking questions and connecting the dots in the literature of the day.  Thank you Gabriella for your smiles and enthusiasm.

 

Junior High Female Scholar of the month is Ana Ho. She was nominated by Ms. Ford. Ana is an extremely dedicated worker and asks great questions to clarify her understanding in class. Ana thoughtfully takes her time while writing literary analysis and takes great care to make sure each comma is in the right place, plus she has scored 100% on every Word Within the Word vocabulary test she's taken. Keep up the great work, Ana! 

 

Junior High Male Scholar of the month is Robelle Abai. He was nominated by Ms.Sweney. Robelle is an avid participant in class each day. He is a role model for other students, always giving his best effort and dedicating his time to his studies. When he needs help or clarification, he asks questions and exhibits a strong desire to learn from his mistakes. I can always count on Robelle to read in class and to come prepared to discuss the novels. Robelle, thank you for you hard work! Keep it up!

 

High School Scholar of the month is Bryce Forsgren. He was nominated by Ms. Sweney. Bryce is one of my most dedicated students. He goes above and beyond with his work for English. He has a strong desire to learn and to be successful. Rising to the challenge, Bryce is determined to be the best that he can be. I am so grateful for his hard work and daily efforts in class. He can be quiet but works hard to improve his presentation skills and confidence in front of the class. Thank you Bryce for all of your work in and out of class!

The Counseling Department will have the last Admissions Game for 9th Graders. You can meet only with your own assigned counselor. If your last name begins with S through W, you will be required to go to E100 for 7th Hour today. If your last name begins with D through G, you will be required to go to counseling. High school students interested in building, painting, lighting or sound, come join stage crew for this year's musical, Matilda. There will be a brief informational meeting after school today in the drama room, it will last no more than thirty minutes. All are welcome, and no experience is required. Come have some fun and help create an exciting production!

Additionally, the D’Evelyn faculty, staff, and administration is organizing an Open House event from 9 AM - noon on Saturday, November 9th for interested students and families. This will be a great chance to meet D’Evelyn students, teachers, coaches, club sponsors, and administrators, to learn more about the school, and tour the facility.

We encourage all families interested in D’Evelyn enrollment for their student(s) in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 for 2020-2021 to attend one of these Information Sessions.

The Academic Assistance Center is officially running from 2:45-4:00 pm after school in the library. This program allows students to have a quiet time and space for additional academic support and tutoring. This is primarily for Jr. High, however, high school students may attend on a referral basis. If you wish for your student to attend the Academic Assistance Center, please contact your student’s administrator, counselor, or Mrs. Lewis (katie.lewis@jeffco.k12.co.us). Thanks!

We are looking for a few more team leaders to design and plan areas of the Ridge for the event.  Do you like to design, create, build, craft, plan, organize, decorate for events?? If so, we need you!  After Prom is April 25, 2020 at the Ridge Recreation Center.
-Come find out this year's secret theme and help design what the Ridge will be transformed into this year!

Just a reminder that tickets for Oliver the musical go on sale today during lunch. The cost is 5 dollars per ticket.  The performance will be on Thursday evening November 21st at 6:30 pm at the West Bowles Community theater.

Join D’Evelyn’s graduate Jake McGrath for CU Boulder - Taste of Presidents Leadership Class on Tuesday, Nov 19th at 5 pm.  PLC is a 4-year, leadership program for outstanding undergraduates.  It focuses on academics, experience, service and community in order to expose students to leadership lessons.  You are invited to a lecture to learn more about the program and application process.  Stop by Counseling if interested.

 

United States Naval Academy presentation on Nov 25, for interested students and families to learn about the Academy, Navy ROTC programs & summer programs offered.  This information will give students time to strengthen their academics and leadership skills to have a STRONG application their senior year for Navy and other military academies.  Students 8th -11th grade are encouraged to attend.  Counseling has the details.

 

Are you interested in joining the D’Evelyn Winter Guard? There will be an informational meeting today during 7th hour in Mrs. Paschke’s room. Please stop by her room to get a pass. Auditions for Winter Guard will be held after school from 3-5:30 on Thursday, no experience is necessary!

 

Students if you are still waiting on a bus pass, please stop by the finance office to pick your pass up.

 

Be sure to support our D’Evelyn Basketball program on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at any of the 3 TukTuk locations. It is all day event and make sure you mention D’Evelyn Basketball. Fifty percent of the purchase price will go this awesome program!

 

Interested in going on a fabulous trip in 2021 to Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, and Hungary with the social studies team? Stop by Mrs. Newell's room (W203) on Tuesday the 19th during 7th hour for an interest meeting. Sign up with your social studies teacher.

SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS: 

The Counseling Department will have the last Admissions Game for 9th Graders. You can meet only with your own assigned counselor. If your last name begins with S through W, you will be required to go to E100 for 7th Hour today. If your last name begins with D through G, you will be required to go to counseling. Additional 9th graders will be required during 7th Hour to make up this event.

 

High school students interested in building, painting, lighting or sound, come join stage crew for this year's musical, Matilda. There will be a brief informational meeting after school today in the drama room, it will last no more than thirty minutes. All are welcome, and no experience is required. Come have some fun and help create an exciting production!

 

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS: 

Junior High Student Council meets today in Mr. Beams' room during 7th hour.  Sign up with your Social Studies teacher.

Important updates regarding D’Evelyn enrollment for 2020-2021

D’Evelyn will offer a new 6th grade program next school year (2020-2021). Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year is just around the corner. The 1st round priority enrollment period will occur from December 10, 2019 - January 15, 2020 in the EnrollJeffco system.

For the 2020-2021 school year, D’Evelyn will accept applicants for 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade from both Jeffco and non-Jeffco residents. We ask D’Evelyn community members to share these updates with friends and family in the metro area, as well as the details of our Prospective Student Information Sessions.

We will host Prospective Student Information Sessions in the D’Evelyn Auditorium on the following days and times:

  • Saturday, November 9th, 8 AM
  • Thursday, December 12th, 7 PM
  • Thursday, December 19th, 7 PM
