ALL STUDENTS:

Students you made it through the 2019/2020 school year! Enjoy your summer and we will see you this August!

Last week we conducted a D’Evelyn Student pick-up, drop-off, and locker clean-out.  If for some reason your student was unable to make those tow days, we are going to allow students the chance to come to school next Wednesday, May 27th, from 9:00am until Noon, to return books, clean out their academic and P.E. lockers, as well as pick up their yearbooks.  Keep in mind that this will be the only additional day that your student can do this, if you are not able to come, you will have to wait until we come back to school in the fall.  If your students will be coming to school to do this, they must wear a mask, if they are picking up a yearbook, please remember to bring your Student ID.  We are hoping to furnish Summer reading material as well.  Also keep in mind that you will not be able to pay fees during this time, those must be done online or over the phone.  Thank you and perhaps we will see you on Wednesday.

This is the first year Jeffco School District is allowing a student’s credit to roll-over into the next school year.  Due to time constraints, if your student (not seniors) needs to be refunded for some reason, if the amount is under $90.00 a credit will be added to their fee statement.  You may use this credit next school year for any fee/fine that may be owed.  All refunds have been issued for seniors.

The D'Evelyn Education Foundation would like to wish the students, families, faculty, and the D'Evelyn community a fun and healthy summer.  In addition, we are incredibly grateful to the administration, staff and teachers as they had to transition in March to an online remote learning model.  They have handled these seismic changes in the most professional, timely and successful way possible.  Last, but not least, many many congratulations to the Class of 2020!

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!!

To the D’Evelyn community,

As many of us are aware, we shared our last official school day with D’Evelyn’s Class of 2020 last week. We were able to celebrate the successes of these students with a senior parade on May 16th, but we would like to further give the community a chance to show their support.

That’s why we are inviting you to participate in our first ever Adopt a Senior event! We would like to ask you to sign up to sponsor a Class of 2020 senior via the linked Sign-Up Genius. Once you sign up for a student, you will receive an email including the student’s information, which you can then use to make a care package. We ask that you do not spend more than $50 for a singular care package, and these can include snacks, gift cards, t-shirts, signs, or any other gifts you can think of. Be creative!

This event is optional, however it can be a great way for us to further demonstrate our support for the Class of 2020. We look forward to this last celebration of the seniors before our official graduation ceremony in August!

Forty works of art created by D'Evelyn Jr. and Sr. High School students are on exhibit in the 2020 Jeffco Schools Foundation Annual Art Show. The traditional gallery shows are usually installed each spring at both the Arvada Center and the Lakewood Cultural Centers. This year, due to COVID-19 and the shift of schools to a remote learning platform, the art shows shifted too! None the less, Mrs. Haller and Mrs. Lawrence sent the work of our outstanding artists to the virtual art show. Check it out at http://www.jeffcoarts.com To find D’Evelyn go to webpage > School Galleries > Charter and Options School

We have begun to process refunds for spring sports fees, prom and the $65.00 for graduation.  We are working to manually process these reimbursements one-by-one, so please accept our apologies that this process will take some time to complete, as we have 100s of students that need to be refunded.

Hi, my name is Phoenix Lee, a sophomore at D'Evelyn High School. I am committed to giving back to the community, and one way to do so is by supporting the local businesses of Jefferson County and providing meals for the hospitals, health care workers, and EMTs during this time of uncertainty. I have created a GoFundMe fundraiser in use of buying food from local restaurants for the healthcare workers. These workers work in tough conditions, where the hospital cafeterias often do not provide sufficient food and in many cases, are closed, so that is why I hope to provide food and help get them through their day. If we work together we can make this possible, and with your donation, you can help the community around you.

SHOPPING MORE ONLINE?  Try using AmazonSmile which is a simple way for D'Evelyn community members to support our school. AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of your purchases to the charity (D'Evelyn Education Foundation). It costs you and D'Evelyn nothing, and it's just like shopping on Amazon normally. Items that are eligible for donations will be marked as such on their product pages. The only real catch is you must start your shopping at smile.amazon.com, This is a great way to support D'Evelyn!

Always willing to run whatever event had an open spot, Ally could be counted on to give her best each and every race.

The male Senior Student Athlete of the week is Jack Grant.  Jack was a guard on the Boys Basketball Team and is a versatile member of the Track Team. Jack has the unique opportunity of being teammates with his younger brother in both basketball and track.  Jack has played basketball for 4 years and has been on the track team for 3, as well as playing soccer his 9th grade year.  Jack is an excellent student and will be headed to Arizona State University next fall.

The GoFundMe link is below: gf.me/u/xyc6yg

SHOPPING MORE ONLINE?  Try using AmazonSmile which is a simple way for D'Evelyn community members to support our school. AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of your purchases to the charity (D'Evelyn Education Foundation). It costs you and D'Evelyn nothing, and it's just like shopping on Amazon normally. Items that are eligible for donations will be marked as such on their product pages. The only real catch is you must start your shopping at smile.amazon.com, This is a great way to support D'Evelyn!

SUPPORT D'EVELYN SUPPORTERS!  Our local business supporters who have so generously given to the D’Evelyn community are now in need of your support.  Let us illustrate to them how incredibly grateful we are for their past generosity by frequenting their business.  Now is the opportune time to give back to those who have charitably donated to our school.  To see the list go Support for DEF Local Businesses List.

The D’Evelyn Dash is on August 29th this year and we could use your help!

Come join a fun team!  Here’s how you can get involved:

Dash Chair:

Are you good at organizing people?  The Dash Crew needs you!  We are looking for 1-2 people to shadow our current Dash chairs.  We have all the information organized in google drive/gmail and we have an amazing team of volunteers for the various Dash jobs.  You would just need to oversee the team and keep things moving along.  Most work can be done at home and on your own time.

Sponsorship:

We are looking for 1-2 people to help with sponsorship.  We have all sponsorship documentation in google drive so you aren't having to "reinvent the wheel."  We have also built a healthy list of sponsors.  We just need people to follow up with them and keep things organized.  Most of the work is done on the computer and during the months of March-May.

Smaller Jobs:

Not sure where you want to help or maybe you can take on pieces but not the whole thing?  Email us at develyndashcrew@gmail.com.  We can use your help in any way and would love to work with you!

Our next donation from American Furniture Warehouse will be $758.10! When shopping at American Furniture please mention D’Evelyn or give the ID#DEVHS5   Thank you D’Evelyn Families for mentioning the school when purchasing furniture!

Jags, please continue to scan your receipts on the Box Tops for Education app! This is an easy way to earn free money for D'Evelyn. You can also bring in unexpired Box Tops to the blue collection bin in the main office. Thanks for your continued support!
