ALL STUDENTS
Don't forget that today the National Junior Honor Society students will be selling Dairy queen blizzards in the front lobby.  They will have Oreo and M&M flavors.  Blizzards are $5.00 and they sell out fast!!!  

Girl mentors and mentees! Today is our scavenger hunt meeting. Signup in your celebrity’s class room for this Friday’s 7th hour! Look at your Google classroom for more information.

SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS
If you are a high school girl and are interested in joining the swim team this winter, there is an information meeting on Thursday, October 6th in the Drama Room. During this meeting you will get to meet the new coach and get information about the upcoming season. If you have questions, please see Mr. Mac or Mrs. Raczynski

 

Winter Sports Registration will open next week on 10/7. If you’re interested in Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball and Girls Swimming please make sure that you have a valid physical. If not, tell your parents to get you in for an appointment. You many NOT tryout unless registration is complete. If you have questions please see Mrs. Raczynski.

 

It's that time of year again to save lives! NHS is sponsoring the Fall Blood Drive on Tuesday, October 4th. If you are 16 or older and are interested in donating blood, please visit our table during lunches starting Wed., Sept. 28th or scan the QR code on the posters around school. You MUST sign-up ahead of time and meet the requirements to donate blood. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Bender in E206.

 

We are in serious need of male leaders for outdoor lab! This is an excellent opportunity to build your resume, college applications, and leadership experience. Please see Mr. Watson ASAP if you are interested. 

 

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS:
6th, 7th and 8th grade Mathletes: Join us for MathCounts today during 7th hour for some fun problem solving! Sign up with Mr Ryckman, room E113.

 

Attention all junior high students:  Do you like to argue?  Do you like to talk?  D'Evelyn's first junior high debate club will be today during 7th hour.  You will get a chance to learn about formal debate style as well as compete against other middle schools from across Colorado.  Come check us and be sure to sign up for MS Debate this Friday.

 COLLEGE AND CAREER:
Next Week’s college visits on Monday are Dean College and Universal Technical Institute of Arizona. Tuesday University of Chicago and University of Puget Sound, WA. Wednesday Baylor University, Willamette University, Colorado Mesa University, and Thursday Boston College.

DAZZLING JAGS:
Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball Team for a big 3-2 victory over Evergreen on the road last night! That win kept us in 2nd place in conference play and improved our record to 8-4 overall. We are back in action Tuesday night when we host Conifer High School, who is currently tied with us in conference play.

 Good luck today to the following teams:

Cross Country Team will compete in the Thornton Invite this afternoon. The race will be held at Margaret Carpenter Rec Center in Thornton. The first race starts at 2:30.

The Football Team will take on Platte Valley at Trailblazer Stadium. Kick off will be at 4:00 pm.

The Boys Soccer Team will travel to Evergreen High School. That game will start at 7:00 pm.

Good luck to the following teams for Saturday’s competitions:

The Softball Team will play tomorrow morning as they host Green Mountain. First pitch is at 11:00 am.

The Boys Tennis Team will travel to Cheyenne Mountain for the Elite 8 round of the State Team Tournament.

Monday and Tuesday Event:

Taj Kumar and Graham Truesdel will compete in the State Golf Tournament at Pinehurst Country Club.

The D’Evelyn Education Foundation (DEF) – HELP NEEDED

DEF is looking for parent volunteers to help with the important work of supporting the activities of the Foundation.  Our organization is based on service to our community and run entirely by parent volunteers.  As you may know, DEF provides financial support for programs that enhance the opportunities and resources available to D’Evelyn students and encourages the development of a community that fosters learning and achievement inside and outside the classroom.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Volunteer Opportunities for Annual Dinner/Auction – Decorating, Acquire Auction Items, Setup, Greeters, Checkout, Cleanup, please contact [email protected]

Your student’s pictures have arrived. Please be sure to have your student stop by and pick up their photos. The pictures that were not ordered will have the ordering information on the packet. Picture retake will be Tuesday, September 27. You will need to return the ordered packet to get another picture taken.

 ALL STUDENTS

The Big Cat Marching Festival, co-hosted by D’Evelyn and Lakewood, is this Saturday, October 1, at the NAAC! Performances begin at 10 a.m. and D’Evelyn will perform in exhibition at 1:45 p.m. Student tickets are $8 with ID! Proceeds from the festival help support our program.

 

We have several sporting events to support today:
Volleyball Teams tonight will host Green Mountain. Level 3 starts at 4:30, JV at 5:30, and Varsity at 6:30.

Boys Soccer Team tonight as they play against Green Mountain at LMF at 5:00 pm.

Good luck to the Softball Team tonight as they travel to Severance for a Varsity game at 4:00.

ALL STUDENTS
Students who purchased an activity/sports pass need to make sure it is indicated on their student ID.  If you paid for an activity pass and it is not on your ID, please go to the Financial Office to receive a sticker.  If you do not have a sticker on your ID, you will have to pay at the gate of sporting and activity events. 


The Big Cat Marching Festival, co-hosted by D’Evelyn and Lakewood, is this Saturday, October 1, at the NAAC! Performances begin at 10 a.m. and D’Evelyn will perform in exhibition at 1:45 p.m. Student tickets are $8 with ID! Proceeds from the festival help support our program.

The math department has 17 extra TI-inspire II calculators for sale! If you would like to purchase one, please bring a check for $132, made out to DHS, to your math teacher, or Mrs. Weber, by next Friday, September 30th. First come, first serve! 

 

Students we have student ID cards and photos in the main office. Please stop by to pick up the items.

SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS
It's that time of year again to save lives! NHS is sponsoring the Fall Blood Drive on Tuesday, October 4th. If you are 16 or older and are interested in donating blood, please visit our table during lunches starting Wed., Sept. 28th or scan the QR code on the posters around school. You MUST sign-up ahead of time and meet the requirements to donate blood. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Bender in E206.

 

We are in serious need of male leaders for outdoor lab! This is an excellent opportunity to build your resume, college applications, and leadership experience. Please see Mr. Watson ASAP if you are interested. 

 

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS:
Seventh grade students with the last names A-D have been required by counseling to go to the auditorium during 7th hour.  We look forward to seeing you then.

College Essay first draft revisions is today in E100. College visits today are with University of Michigan, Reed College, Westminster College, Knox College, Oberlin College, Case Western Reserve University and IE University in Madrid, Spain.

Students the lost and found is over running with clothes, water bottles and lunch boxes. We will be donating the items on Friday, September 23. Please check in the main office for any lost items.

 

Your student’s pictures have arrived. Please be sure to have your student stop by and pick up their photos. The pictures that were not ordered will have the ordering information on the packet. Picture retake will be Tuesday, September 27. You will need to return the ordered packet to get another picture taken.

The D’Evelyn Education Foundation (DEF) – HELP NEEDED

DEF is looking for parent volunteers to help with the important work of supporting the activities of the Foundation.  Our organization is based on service to our community and run entirely by parent volunteers.  As you may know, DEF provides financial support for programs that enhance the opportunities and resources available to D’Evelyn students and encourages the development of a community that fosters learning and achievement inside and outside the classroom.
