National Gratitude Month (Week 3) - Hosted by the D'Evelyn Education Foundation

This third week of November, we challenge our D'Evelyn community to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.  Now it’s all about seeing good fortune everywhere.  Look for unexpected heroes: Don’t journal just about people who’ve helped you, but also about those who’ve been there for your loved ones. When you list your three good things this week, call out these indirect joy bringers.  Find silver linings: Write down three less-than-perfect experiences and consider how they actually benefited you.  Take it to the office/school: The workplace is one of the places gratitude is lacking the most. Show a boss, peer, or intern some appreciation this week. Don’t be surprised if the good vibes come back to you. Gratitude often has a boomerang effect.

"In ordinary life, we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it." - William Arthur Ward

TELL US WHY YOU ARE THANKFUL!  November is Appreciation and Gratitude month.  It is an opportune time to take a minute and reflect on life's good things whether that is D'Evelyn, the changing weather, or the upcoming holidays.  The D'Evelyn Education Foundation is collecting quotes from students, parents, teachers and staff on why you are thankful and if chosen, your quote could be used in an upcoming Jag Tracks article.  Please participate and send your quote today to DEF at develynfoundationmgmt@gmail.com!

Attention all students!  Our beloved Ms. Lewis is returning from maternity leave and is ready to launch the 2020 version of “Virtual Peer Tutoring,” and she needs your help.  We are in need of several peer tutors to help out students who may be struggling in the hybrid or remote learning models.  Tutoring will take place via Zoom meeting.  If you are interested in helping, please go to the D’Evelyn website, under the Academics tab, and fill out the “D’Evelyn Peer Tutoring Interest Form.  We need several Peer tutors and Ms. Lewis will contact you.

The D'Evelyn Education Foundation is collecting quotes from students, parents, teachers and staff on why you are thankful and if chosen, your quote could be used in an upcoming Jag Trax article.

If you are a student who is in need of tutoring -- you may sign up using the same Peer Tutoring Interest Form found on the D’Evelyn website.

Please do not enter the building! Everyone must have their temperature taken and answer questions prior to entry.

SHOPPING MORE ONLINE?  Try using AmazonSmile, which is a simple way for D'Evelyn community members to support our school. AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of your purchases to the charity (D'Evelyn Education Foundation). It costs you and D'Evelyn nothing, and it is just like shopping on Amazon normally. Items that are eligible for donations will be marked as such on their product pages. The only real catch is you must start your shopping at smile.amazon.com. This is a great way to support D'Evelyn!

The D'Evelyn Education Foundation is collecting quotes from students, parents, teachers and staff on why you are thankful and if chosen, your quote could be used in an upcoming Jag Trax article.  Please participate and send your quote today to DEF at
develynfoundationmgmt@gmail.com!

If you are a student who is in need of tutoring -- you may sign up using the same Peer Tutoring Interest Form found on the D’Evelyn website.

Please do not enter the building when someone is exiting. Everyone must have their temperature taken and answer questions prior to entry.

American Furniture Warehouse donates part of their sales to D’Evelyn if you mention the school name.

SUPPORT D'EVELYN SUPPORTERS!  Our local business supporters who have so generously given to the D’Evelyn community are now in need of your support.  Let us illustrate to them how incredibly grateful we are for their past generosity by frequenting their business.  Now is the opportune time to give back to those who have charitably donated to our school.  To see the list go Support for DEF Local Businesses List.
