PARENTS:

~The December Scholars of the Month are as follows:

Josh McFeeters: Josh consistently contributes to class discussions and has an ability to articulate difficult computer science concepts in a way that benefits all of our understanding. Josh's strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to details will assist in his continual success. Keep up the good work.

Kylee Graper is an outstanding member in band.  She is someone who will go the extra mile to make sure the program is successful.  She has played multiple instruments in D'Evelyn's band but most importantly - she is a leader by example.  She has one of the strongest work ethics that I have ever had the privilege of teaching.  Kylee is a rock star!

Tony Adams is an excellent bass clarinet player.  He is a hard worker and always comes to class prepared.  Tony is always looking for more challenging music and strives to be the best he can be.  He was recently selected as first chair bass clarinet of Junior high all county honor band.  Tony is amazing!

Throughout period 2 art this semester, Morgan Mitchell has been an outstanding art student.  She is a careful, meticulous artist who is willing to work outside of class to really bring her work up to a high level of craftsmanship and polish.  Morgan really engages with the projects and generates creative ideas easily.  She is an enthusiastic and positive force in the art room!  Congratulations, Morgan!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE OUTSTANDING STUDENTS!

~Holiday Shopping via Amazon ? AmazonSmile is a simple way for D'Evelyn community members to support our school.  AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of your purchases to the charity (D'Evelyn Education Foundation). It costs you and D'Evelyn nothing, and it's just like shopping on Amazon normally. Items that are eligible for donations will be marked as such on their product pages. The only real catch is you must start your shopping at smile.amazon.com  which, in my opinion, is a small price to pay to have a portion of your purchases go to D'Evelyn!

~Each month coaches have the opportunity to nominate athletes for Student Athlete of the Month. In order to be selected for this prestigious award, athletes must be academically eligible every week and make significant contributions to their teams, in the eyes of their coaches

The female Student Athlete for December is Cassidy Simpson.

Moving up from JV one season to Varsity the next is always a big step for any athlete.  Being asked to start on Varsity for the 7th ranked team in the state is a huge leap.  Thank goodness Cassidy has long strides!  To say she is one of the most improved players in our program over the last 2 years would be an understatement.  Cassidy has worked hard and put in the time to be in that position.  And her team needs her!  Through 3 early games Cassidy is averaging a modest 3.7 points per game but it’s her 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks that set the standard on the defensive end for her team.  She has played nearly every minute of every game to start the season - a testament to her work ethic, athleticism, and stamina.  Her performance has been even more important for a team hit hard with injury and illness to start the season.  When you combine the on court stuff with her off court stuff - school leader, positive attitude, perpetual smile, and internal motivation - you get an idea of what a joy she is to coach!  Cassidy embodies the Jaguar Way - Have Fun, Train Hard, Play Fast, and Succeed Together.  She is a role model to everyone in our program!

Congratulations Cassidy

Cassidy was nominated by Coach Olson

The male Student Athlete of the Month for December is Dan Brady.

Daniel has come off of the football field and onto the basketball court in an amazing fashion. As one of our leaders, he has rallied the team as we kicked off our season with one of the toughest schedules in the state. He leads the team in points scored, averaging over 11 points per game during our first 4 games, including a team high 18 point night against the defending state champions, Longmont HS. His leadership on and off the court is going to be a major factor in what this team is able to accomplish this season.

Congratulations Dan!

Dan was nominated by Coach Zinn

CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE FINE STUDENT ATHLETES

DAZZLING JAGS!

~The Student Athletes of the month for December are as follows:

Cassidy Simpson….Moving up from JV one season to Varsity the next is always a big step for any athlete.  Being asked to start on Varsity for the 7th ranked team in the state is a huge leap. Cassidy has worked hard and put in the time to be in that position.  When you combine the on court stuff with her off court stuff - school leader, positive attitude, perpetual smile, and internal motivation, she is a role model to everyone in our program!

Dan Brady…has come off of the football field and onto the basketball court in an amazing fashion.

~Hey jags! This Friday your DHS Cheer team competes against over 30 teams at CHASSA 4A State competition at the Denver coliseum around 5 PM! Come support them as they take on rivals like Valor and Golden, go jags!

PARENTS:

D’Evelyn Giving Tree  --  “Paws for a Cause”

We would like to invite D’Evelyn families to consider participating in “Paws for a Cause” -- the D’Evelyn Giving Tree Gift Drive.

If you would like to provide a gift to support a local family, you or your student can stop by the Jags Giving Tree display in the office.  Each of the Paw ornaments on the tree has a gift or age on the front as well as instructions on the back.  Feel free to take an ornament or two and then bring back the gift before December 18th.

This is a great opportunity for D’Evelyn students to care for families and friends in our community!

In addition, if you know of a family that is in need of assistance this Holiday Season…or if your family could use a helping hand, please contact Sonya Sotolongo at 303-982-2619 in the main office. If you have any questions about the Jags Giving Tree please contact Kelly Morris at morris.kellya@gmail.com.  Thanks in advance for your generosity!!!
