Each month coaches have the opportunity to nominate athletes for Student Athlete of the Month. In order to be selected for this prestigious award, athletes must be academically eligible every week and make significant contributions to their teams, in the eyes of their coaches.

The female Student Athlete for September is Eliana Thompson Last year, Eliana Thompson broke our freshman record and became D'Evelyn's second fastest runner in our 25 year program history.  This year Eliana definitely showed the will to prepare over the summer and won the first two races of the season and has been our top finisher in every race.  She is a dedicated student taking advanced classes at Red Rocks as a sophomore.  We are looking forward to her continuing success this season.  Well done Eliana!

Congratulations Eliana

Eliana was nominated by Coach Lisa Porter

The male Student Athletes of the Month for September are Coltin Spiller and Isaac Li

Coltin Spiller and Isaac Li have had a great start to the season playing 2 doubles for our varsity team. They have gotten us off to a strong start with wins over Columbine and Evergreen, while playing hard in a close defeat to Mullen. As senior captains, they have done a great job of getting everyone to buy into our goals this year of winning a league title, winning our regionals tournament and competing for a state championship. We have 3 new student athletes on varsity and Coltin and Isaac have done a great job of showing them how to practice hard and how to play smart when the matches get tight. With big matches against Lakewood, Golden and Valor coming up soon, not to mention a tough tournament at Ralston Valley, Coltin and Isaac will continue to lead the way and make sure everyone will be at their best come game time. These two are only just beginning what is sure to be a great last season, and they will be greatly missed by our program.

Congratulations Coltin and Isaac

Coltin and Isaac were nominated by Coach Oliver
