Option School

Jeffco Public Schools offers many educational options to meet the needs of our students.  This includes option schools. Option schools, serving kindergarten through grade 12, draw students from all parts of the district who can choice enroll at the school.

These schools offer a particular educational focus such as highly structured programs, experiential learning or technical training. In addition, there are certain option schools that are considered Alternative Education Campuses (AECs).

About Alternative Education Campuses

In Jeffco, not all students are starting from the same place nor do they need the same things to reach their fullest potential. We view individual differences as assets to be leveraged and provide a variety of quality educational options to help all students thrive.

Jeffco Public Schools Alternative Education Campuses (AECs) provide specialized support and services to help students thrive. Some alternative education campuses are considered high-risk AECS and serve students who are at-risk, over-aged or undercredited so they get the specialized support they need.

AECs are considered option schools. Each AEC school has their own process of enrollment including choice option, direct placement, . Learn more about specific enrollment processes on each school’s website.
